Oxley Nets has extensive experience that allows us to develop custom mining net projects for safety issues that confront the mining industry.
The capabilities of our engineering and technical staff, and the quality and range of our netting products are exactly what Newcrest Mining Ltd required when they decided to use netting as a 'capture spillage system' beneath 7 kms of cavern roof mounted conveyor.
Oxley Nets has worked closely with both the consulting engineers at Sinclair Knight Merz, and Newcrest Mining, to develop a solution that achieved the requirements of ease of installation, ease of conveyor access for maintenance and spillage release, and this was all done within budget.
HDPE lined ponds present a safety hazards for both mine site employees and the local fauna. Pond egress nets, positioned regularly around evaporation or tailings pond perimeters, provide an escape route over the slippery HDPE lining in the event of a fall. It can also be good environmental policy to exclude the local birdlife completely from the dam or pond area, with the use of dam cover nets across the entire enclosure.
Netting is a cost flexible and cost effective solution to many of the safety situations being confronted in the mining industry.
